If you wish to use one of our minibuses, your driver(s) will need to be trained to the MiDAS standard.
MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, supported by the Community Transport Association, UK (CTA), which promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers. Swindon Dial A Ride is the longest established MiDAS centre in Wiltshire and has been providing MiDAS training since 2000.
There is a small charge for MiDAS training for users of our vehicles. We will also train members of other organisations at a very competitive cost.
MiDAS training ensures that your driver(s) skills are of an acceptable level. It will also make them aware of the legal, practical and safety issues surrounding minibus driving.
It is important that all minibus drivers understand how to use the wheelchair accessible safety equipment properly, therefore, this will also be offered as part of the course.
At the end of the training each driver will be awarded with a certificate which is accepted by other MiDAS members throughout the country.
MiDAS is applicable to any organisation operating or using minibuses. It doesn't matter whether your organisation is running one vehicle or whether you operate using a large fleet of minibuses, this training is a valuable aid to a large range of businesses.
If you are interested in taking the MiDAS assessment or if you would like further information, please telephone Dawn or Tanya on 01793 617828.
